FAQ

The Basics

What is Reiki? Reiki is a gentle energy healing practice that supports relaxation, stress release, and balance. Think of it as a soft reset for your system, helping it shift out of stress into a more grounded state.

Do I need to believe in Reiki for it to work? No. Reiki is a spiritual, not religious, practice and is open to everyone. It supports the body’s natural ability to relax and restore itself, whether you believe in it or not.

Is it the practitioner’s personal energy? No. Reiki practitioners act as a channel rather than the source—you receive universal energy, not personal energy.

Do you offer in-person or distance sessions? Both. I offer in-home and distance Reiki sessions. Distance Reiki can be received from anywhere and offers the same intention of helping you feel more centred and at ease.

Safety & Comfort

Is Reiki safe? Yes. Reiki is gentle, non-invasive, and safe for all ages. It works alongside other forms of care and support.

Can anything negative transfer to me? No. Reiki is a supportive practice that helps you feel more grounded and at ease. It does not involve transferring anything negative.

What should I wear? Wear whatever feels comfortable. You remain fully clothed during the session.

The Experience

What will I feel during a session? Everyone’s experience is different. You may feel warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, emotional release, or simply a sense of calm.

What if I don’t feel anything? That’s completely okay. Reiki is still working to support your system even if sensations are subtle.

How will I feel after a session? Most people feel more relaxed, grounded, and mentally clearer. Some notice a sense of lightness or emotional ease.

How many sessions do I need? It depends on your needs. Some people come for one session, others prefer ongoing support. Your body will guide you on what it needs.

After Your Session

To support your experience:

💧 Hydrate: Drink extra water to support your body’s natural processes.

🍃 Take it slow: Give yourself time to slow down and avoid high-stress activities when possible. Listen to your body and honour what it needs.

🍎 Eat something light: A light, nourishing meal or warm drink supports your body.

📝 Notice changes: You may notice subtle shifts over the next few days, such as better sleep or a calmer mind.
